Local Trails

​West Liberty was chosen by Iowa Living Roadways, in partnership with Trees Forever and Iowa State University Extension, to be included in the Community Visioning Program. As part of that process, a plan was created for trail systems to connect our community. The creation of trails was identified as extremely important in the City of West Liberty’s 2016 Comprehensive Plan. The proposed trail system offers long and short routes, and links to regional trails and important community areas like schools, parks, downtown, and the train depot. It even incorporates our residential areas and outlying rural housing developments. Details and more information can be found here.
